Last day in Bali. Got there at 5:30am or so. Had a nice long session. It was kind of sloppy conditions. It started pouring rain really hard and the line up was packed…
Serangan, all day

I got there at like 5:30. I had some fun rights but then it started getting crowded. I went over to the left where I could catch the smaller rights (and risk getting caught inside) or catch a left. I stayed in the water until around 8:30 and got out and had some breakfast at Made’s Warung. I hung out with these Australlian dudes that I met the other day. Then it started raining, then it started pouring. I was a little scetchy about riding the motorbike back to town in that kind of rain so I hung out but the rain didn’t stop. I was getting bored so I just paddled back out into the line up. Had some fun rides and then the rain stopped and it got super glassy. Nicest I’d seen the place… full day of surfing.

Mike, Roland and I went on Motorbike adventure. We went down and looked at dreamland, ulu watu and those west side breaks. Ulu’s a pretty crazy spot, wind was onshore so no-one was surfing there. We went over to Nusa Dua which was going off. Long paddle out. Got a few good ones before getting caught inside. Once I was caught inside, it took forever to get back out because of the current. This Australlian guy got caught inside at the same time and he said that he timed it and it was 40 minutes of paddling to get back out! When I got back out I was in a totally different break which was nice. I had some sick rides and saw mike shred a few too.

Moved again to Ned’s hideaway, nice place, quiet, only $10 a night. Met Darren at Serangan. He was on the main break but I was over on the left… Some nice waves but a little windy.

got in a quick 1 hour session after dropping Renny off in Sanur and before checking out of my hotel en route to Jakarta. The waves were much smaller than New Years day but there were plenty of people out there. I caught a few rights and then went over to this soft left on the right where I caught one all the way in. It was a little too windy this day…

This is a beach break spot north of sanur. The waves were about 1/2 high. Some local indonesians kids were all excited when then they saw me and Renny there and told us to follow them. “Good wave”, they said. I surf for about 30 minutes before I got out and headed to get some breakfast and hit up Serangan…
Serangan, Mid-day

This place was pounding. Seemed like it was about 8-10 foot faces. I couldn’t get into any of the big ones with the 6’3 I had since I’m so out of shape (wha-wha). I took some nice hollow ones on the right. They were pretty awesome rides…

This is THE spot. Very nice wave. There are tons of little “Warungs” on the beach to eat at once you get out. They hook you up with wax and watch your stuff too. My buddy Darin went right into the thick of the break. I stayed over on the right and had some fun ones. Some closed out pretty quick but I took some all the way in.

Took me forever to find this one too. I was actually looking for Serangan but ended up in Sanur. I took the boat out for 50,000 rp ($5) and told the guy to get me in 2 hours. THere were tons of people out there. The whole session was a struggle to stay in position since the wind kept pushing us north. I had a few decent ones. A boat came got everyone but me and this japanese guy so we had to ourselves for about 30 minutes but I only took a few. I was super tired by the time my boat came.

took me forever to find this place. I got lost a bunch of times on the motor bike. I paddled out instead of taking the boat. It took me about 20 minutes to paddle out. The conditions were kind of windy but there were some fun ones coming through. this is a powerful wave!
